Our Playschool Program Family Matters Community Center is a safe place for parents or guardians and their children (ages birth to 5) to come together for fun, friendship and learning. Our parent/child program has been a part of the community since 1994. Inspired by the Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition, we are one of the Bridgeport’s Family Network Centers. We offer a structured program which includes circle time, singing, dancing, interactive play, snack time, a children’s library, arts and crafts, and weather permitting, an outdoor playground. We also offer adults support groups, coffee, and the opportunity to meet families in the area. Special trips include visits to places like the Harbor Yard Arena, Quassy Amusement Park, the local fire house, and a pumpkin farm. Special programs are offered to both parents and children throughout the year: Holiday parties, International programs, parenting meetings, health and nutrition programs/ screenings, and Madison School Reading program and local community programs. Birth-to-Three and The Kennedy Center offer consultations at Family Matters as needed. Our Summer Family Program During June and July, we offer a Summer Family Program. Lunch is provided for all children. All families and their older siblings are invited to attend.
